A Super Bowl of Fruit

One year has flown by and this week marks the one-year anniversary of Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move healthy food initiative.
To mark the event, foodie Michelle scheduled an itinerant tour to teach, preach, moralize and rebuke lazy, gluttonous Americans to put down the fatty Buffalo wings and deep-dish pizza and not be a hog, lace up and jog.
It’s doubtful; when out sermonizing on behalf of organic veggies, spring water and whole-wheat pasta Mrs. Obama will talk about her 12-month long Gastronomical Xanadu. It would be best if America’s anti-adipose ambassador skipped over sharing how she pampered her palate on a tasting tour in NYC, scarfed barbeque in North Carolina, sliced into foie gras in Hawaii and slurped up a mountain of ice cream in Spain and Florida
Michelle’s healthy eating anniversary expedition begins in Atlanta, Georgia where the first lady is scheduled to speak to school children about responsible food choices and working out.
However, before venturing out to encourage a nutritionally sound/fit America the First Lady hosted a Super Bowl party in the Executive Mansion.
On the night of the big game Obama, Bill O’Reilly and Fergie weren’t the only ones to have face time in the Super Bowl Sunday line-up. Dallas Cowboy Quarterback Tony Roma starred in a Fuel Up to Play 60-public service-Michelle Obama-Let’s Move announcement that aired during the game.
Fuel Up to Play 60 is a flexible in-school program that empowers youth in more than 70,000 schools to improve nutrition and physical activity in their schools and personal lives. It encourages youth to consume nutrient-dense foods like low-fat and fat-free dairy, fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
The ad aired right about the time the Obama Super Bowl Party steamy buffet table was rolled out crammed with the type of foods Michelle maintains no one, other than the Obamas, should ever eat.
Crowded around the table were guests like Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano. Also in attendance sloshing frosty Yuengling Lager, Hinterland Pale Ale and White House Ale were political heavy weights Jenny from the Block and husband Marc Anthony, also known as Hector Lavoe.
Careful not to elbow Obama in the lip a second time “100 of the Obama’s closest friends” headed anxiously toward the goodies about the time Romo showed up on the White House flat screen TV on behalf of Michelle’s initiative to eat right.
Wonder “if you see something say something” Janet Napolitano said something when she saw Michelle shoveling German potato salad into her mouth after sponsoring an ad insisting Americans endure the torture of celery sticks.
So probably after recovering from a ginormous case of heartburn, and after making sure blue cheese/buffalo wing dressing can be cleaned off Swarovski studded Adidas, Mrs. Obama commenced traveling the United States to inform young and old alike that from now on chips, dips and beer are out and sneakers, star fruit and mung beans are in.
have they no shame…
